Join me on the hunt for one of the most colourful and captivating birds in the country, as we head into the city to prove that you can find brilliant birds ANYWHERE.
Walthamstow Wetlands is the scene of our quest, and what a backdrop it is. One of the largest urban wetlands in Europe, there are stacks of species for us to spot. From Peregrine Falcons, to a bustling heronry, to a whole range of duck species, we’ll be exploring the best that the winter wetlands have to offer.
Walthamstow Wetlands is one of 36 free-to-enter nature reserves managed by the London Wildlife Trust. It is an internationally important site, providing home and shelter to a range of wildlife (including kingfishers!). By purchasing a ticket to this event you are supporting the Trust in its mission to champion nature’s recovery across London.
Meeting point: Walthamstow Wetlands. (Exact location given after booking.)
Duration: Walks will be approximately 2.5-3 hours.
