It’s one of the most famous bird sounds in the world, but how many times have you actually seen a Cuckoo?
For this mission, we’ll be heading to the Peak District, into the woodlands and moors of the National Trust’s Longshaw Estate. It’s a spot I know pretty well, and when spring is hitting its stride, Cuckoos can be found all across the area. It’s not just Cuckoos we’ll be keeping an eye out for either. In this landscape, there’s a good chance of running into species like Dippers, Pied Flycatchers, Whinchats, Redstarts, and even Ring Ouzels!
Meeting point: National Trust Longshaw Estate (Exact location given after booking.)
Duration: Approximately 3 hours.
